DocLanding Professional Capture

DocLanding Professional Capture was designed for businesses with low-volume to medium-volume scanning needs who want a simple interface to scan, index, and export documents to a repository. This state-of-the-art system easily guides you through the process of converting paper to searchable electronic data. NOTE: For large batch processing needs, refer to DocLanding Enterprise Capture.

DocLanding Professional Capture:

Features the ability to scan, index, and export on one screen. An operator can scan a document, enter values in index fields you set up per project, and export both the index values and the scanned document image to a repository.

  • Includes Optical Character Recognition (OCR) on scanned images (TIF format).
  • Enables you to set up projects with different indices of different types, including single- and multiple-entry and memo text fields, single- and multiple-entry drop-down lists, date fields, single and multiple check boxes, percent fields, report and calculated entries, and default values.
  • Quickly imports lists of cities, states, countries, and other data you need for drop-down lists.
  • Can interface with other applications, such as DocLanding Forms Processing, to automate the indexing process.
  • Is installed on a PC and works with TWAIN-compliant scanners.
  • Can be used to index and export files scanned separately (TIF format).
  • Can be used to export files to the DocLanding or other file repository.

DocLanding Enterprise Capture

DocLanding Enterprise Capture is a complete document capture application designed to meet the needs of companies who do large batch scanning. It enables you to assign different operators to the tasks of scanning, indexing, and exporting. It provides verification and quality assurance components, and can export data to a DocLanding or other file repository. NOTE: For small- to medium-volume scanning needs, refer to DocLanding Professional Capture.

DocLanding Enterprise Capture:

  • Provides separate modules for scanning, indexing, and export so that you can assign different staff members to each task.
  • Includes a reporting module to track scanning activity by project for audit purposes. You can track by user ID the number of batches scanned, batch status, date scanned, and date exported. The system will also report on documents successfully and unsuccessfully exported. Additional reports can be developed to meet compliance standards your organization is subject to.
  • Is installed on a PC and a SQL database server and works with TWAIN-compliant scanners.
  • Can be used to index and export files scanned separately (TIF format).
  • Can be used to export files to the DocLanding other file repository.

DocLanding Forms Processing

If your organization manually enters high volumes of data from standardized forms, let DocLanding Forms Processing automate the task for you and unlock the power of higher data accuracy rates.

Our approach to forms processing is so different from industry standards, we have a patent pending on it. Traditional forms recognition engines rely on anchors and the design of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) zones to lift data off a form, which can reduce data accuracy for forms with a torn or altered anchor. DocLanding Forms Processing uses an approach that recognizes the entire form and the data it contains.

DocLanding Forms Processing:

  • Enables you to design your own templates for invoices, statements, reports, claim forms, questionnaires, and enrollment and application forms.
  • Enables you to choose what fields you want to extract and index and how you want those fields processed.
  • Works in conjunction with the DocLanding Professional Capture or Enterprise Capture software to automatically extract and index data from scanned forms, based on the template you create.
  • Allows the data you scan to be exported to your information systems, while the image and its metadata (index information) can be exported to a DocLanding workspace for search and retrieval.
  • Bar code recognition is available with a separate license.

How DocLanding Forms Processing and Capture Applications Work Together

To use DocLanding Forms Processing, you would first scan a blank copy of the survey form and open it in DocLanding Forms Processing. You would draw boundaries around the fields you want extracted, and set up parameters on how each field should be processed. For example, a text field goes through Optical Character Recogition (OCR), a bubble or check box goes through Optical Mark Recognition (OMR), and an item like a signature that would be saved to the repository as an image.

You would import the template into the DocLanding Capture software, and use the Capture software to scan the completed forms, verify the automatically extracted data in index fields, and export the indexed data (and scanned image, if you choose) to the repository.
